Hi! I’m Marina Richmond, your friendly neighborhood artist!

Who I am and What I Create:

I am a watercolor and ink artist based in Pinellas County, Florida. I paint botanicals, landscapes, native flora, wildlife, portraits and illustrations with luminous color, a moody atmosphere and ornate details. My style blends natural realism with subtle surrealist elements in a style galleries may label as contemporary magical realism or narrative realism.

I currently exhibit in local Florida galleries and group shows in Clearwater, St Pete, and Gulfport. I am an instructor teaching watercolor at Beach Art Center. I regularly attend art and craft fairs local to the Tampa Bay Area where I sell originals, prints, and little gifts and artisan keepsakes made from my art.
(See my events page for upcoming shows, classes, and fairs. Or check out my art for sale section!)

I also love bringing personal stories to life through commissions. If you have a specific vision or a beloved location, person, or pet you’d like captured, feel free to reach out!

My History and What Inspires me:

I am inspired by direct observation, photography, and emotional memory. I love experimenting with color theory and creative palettes. My paintings focus on emotion, tenderness, and a sense of remembered place. They are my invitation to you to slow down and feel the quiet emotional presence of colors and natural forms.

I grew up between Taiwan and the United States, shaped by a bilingual and multicultural childhood that continues to inform my sensitivity to atmosphere, restraint, and emotional nuance. I hold a BFA in Communications Design with a focus in Illustration from Pratt Institute. This background subtly influences my approach to color and composition, contributing to the contemplative tone across my work.
